Meet Kim Gamble

Kim Gamble

Kimberly Maura Gamble is a native Houstonian, raised in the Hiram Clarke area of south Houston. As a youngster she was known as the neighborhood “cool cup” salesperson, providing cool refreshments for kids in the neighborhood.  Later she went to T.H. Rogers Middle School/ Educational Center and was a member of their first graduation class after the Houston Independent School District (HISD) created an innovative, diverse campus for gifted and talented students and deaf and students with multiple disabilities.  It was there she realized her desire to help others and serve her community.  High school was a leadership training ground as she worked with other students to advance student interest and lead.  She graduated from James Madison Senior High School and received an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy.  She served her country honorably and later transferred to Prairie View A&M University.  After graduation it was off to law school at Texas Tech University. There she combined her love of the law with her desire to serve and enjoyed training for litigation.

After law school she began her legal career as a prosecutor at the City of Houston Municipal Courts. During her time with the City’s Legal Department, she developed the heavy trash collection enforcement program, trained countless clerks, jailers, and police officers and supported many community outreach programs in the courts. She briefly worked for the State Bar of Texas as a litigation attorney and served to protect the integrity of the profession.  She has explored the entire realm of legal experience as a civil litigator, mediator and arbitrator and is now a judge for the City of Houston.  During her academic journey, she learned sign language and Spanish which help her serve people from different walks of life. As a lawyer, she has used her love of the law to help others and serve.  Her attitude toward life is treat others the way you wish to be treated and leave the world a better place than you found it.  Family and faith are guiding lights in her life journey.  Sunday dinners with her family, trips with her family and caring for her parents are just a few of the things she enjoys.  Viewing herself as a lifelong student, she enjoys learning new skills and giving knowledge to others.  Even with the demands of her job she is a loving wife, mother of 4 phenomenal children and 5 energetic dogs, an enthusiastic chef and eager traveler.
